Good George Hamilton
In May 2012, former CF Reese Director and local hospitality entrepreneur Jason Macklow approached us to handle the plumbing, gas, and drainage for a new brewery project. After reviewing the brewery system, which was en route from Canada, we quickly learned that brewing beer requires massive amounts of hot and cold water, high-pressure natural gas, and strict adherence to council wastewater regulations.
At CF Reese, we love a challenge. However, we soon discovered the old church site lacked the necessary municipal services for such a project. To complicate matters, the team aimed to open in just 12 weeks, with the brewery needing to be operational in eight weeks to meet the brewing timeline.
We quickly finalised hydraulic drawings and worked with the council to obtain consent, a first for a brewery in Frankton, all within the tight time frame. We completed internal plumbing, drainage, stormwater, and gas work for the kitchen and brewery. Additionally, we installed the kettle gas flue, glycol chilling system, and brewery trade waste infrastructure.
It was a privilege to be part of this innovative project in Frankton’s commercial precinct. A big thanks to Jason, Brian, and Campbell for the opportunity, and special recognition to our team members, Jarrod Rink and Dan Voogt, who successfully managed and delivered the project for one of our key clients.
